Kindergarten has been learning about Native Americans in our reading curriculum, and to wrap up the unit, one of our student’s parents came to share about their Native Ute tribe. We learned where their reservation is located, saw traditional clothing, and even heard about how they dance at a powwow. It was such a special and meaningful experience for our classes!

A Gift of Words: Thank You, Bountiful Rotary Club!
Recently our third graders had a very special visit from the Bountiful Rotary Club!
Each student received their very own dictionary to keep. Their excitement was contagious as students eagerly flipped through the pages, exploring guide words, discovering new vocabulary, and even challenging each other to find the longest word they could spot!
They had so much fun learning how to use their dictionaries—locating definitions, checking spelling, and noticing all the extra features inside. The biggest smiles came when they realized the dictionaries were theirs to take home and use all year long.
Thank you, Bountiful Rotary Club, for supporting literacy and for investing in our young learners. We truly appreciate your kindness and your commitment to education!

VEX Robotics Club Spotlight!
We are so proud of our VEX Robotics Club for their dedication and hard work! From the initial build all the way to competition day, students showed incredible perseverance, creativity, and teamwork.
Along the way, they learned how to design, test, and improve their robots by problem-solving, collaborating with teammates, and fixing challenges as they arose. Students thoughtfully analyzed what was working, what needed improvement, and how to make their robots perform better—then put those ideas into action.
Their commitment, teamwork, and willingness to learn through trial and error are worth celebrating. Way to go, VEX Robotics Club!

Donate Deodorant to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary to Support Local Teens
In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, schools in the Viewmont High feeder system have launched a community-wide service project. Each school aims to collect 250 essential hygiene items to support the Viewmont High School Teen Center.
West Bountiful Elementary is focusing on collecting 250 deodorants by February 12, 2026. Families are also invited to donate other travel-size hygiene items, including toothpaste, toothbrushes, body wash, shampoo/conditioner, feminine hygiene products, and facial tissues.
This effort allows our school community to honor a national milestone while directly supporting teens in our area.
